My name is Darrell Nutt, and I have spent more than 30 years playing, tuning, recording, and producing drum sounds in professional studio environments. For this collection, I had the opportunity to extensively multisample a carefully curated set of vintage Ludwig drums from a private collection, capturing their character, tone, and musicality in exceptional detail.
 
This expansion pack includes:
2 Bass Drums with 4 articulations each
5 Snare Drums with up to 9 articulations each
2 Rack Toms with 4 articulations each
2 Floor Toms with 4 articulations each
 
Every drum was recorded with meticulous attention to detail, featuring:
 
- 12 velocity layers per drum
- Up to 5 round-robins per velocity layer
- Microphones processed through an SSL4000E console channel strip
- More than 1700 stereo samples
 
The result is a highly realistic and expressive collection of drum sounds designed to respond naturally in any production environment.
 
Microphones Used
To capture the full depth and character of each drum, a variety of world-class microphones were used throughout the sampling process, including:
 
Neumann U47, Coles 4038 (Stereo Pair), Shure SM57, Shure SM57TFL (Transformerless), Sennheiser MD421, Electro-Voice 635A, Lauten Audio Snare, Earthworks DM20, Shure Beta 91A, Shure Beta 52A, AKG C414, Custom-Built Sub Kick Microphone.

Trigger 2 Integration
While the Steven Slate Trigger 2 plug-in allows complete control over the sound with an intuitive
8 channel mixing interface, the SELECTOR SERIES utilizes these 8 channels a little differently.
Instead of each channel containing a separate microphone, the SELECTOR SERIES channels contain premixed drum samples so you can select the drum sound that is best for your song. This makes for a quick and time saving way to enhance a drum sound or completely replace it!
 
To help you get started quickly, presets are included that contain all articulations for each drum, all snare drum same articulations, and individual presets for each drum articulation.
